About hunting in North West
North West runs from bushveld in the north and east to drier, Kalahari-like grassland in the west. Kudu, impala and blue wildebeest are found in the bushveld, with gemsbok and red hartebeest further west. Many farms are within a few hours' drive of Johannesburg and Pretoria.
Most biltong hunting happens in the cooler, drier months, roughly May to August. Seasons and permits are set by each province, so confirm the dates with the farm.
