About this farm
Kalahari sand and duneveld 200 km north of Kuruman, seven kilometres from the Botswana border at McCarthys Rest. Long shots across open ground, and a price list where the cold room, the skinning and the salting are all free.

Accommodation
Chalet accommodation at R450 per person per night, hunters and non-hunters alike, or camping at R200 per person. Eland is priced by weight rather than per animal, at R100 per kg for a bull and R70 per kg for a cow. Caramel and scimitar oryx are also on the sheet at R12,000 and R15,000. Cold room, freezer room, skinning and salting are free, and one bag of firewood a day is included.
Per person, per night. Hunt Local takes commission on this and on any day fee, never on trophy or species fees, which you settle with the farm.

Kalahari Plains Game
Open Kalahari duneveld, where gemsbok are the animal people come for and the shooting is longer than most South African hunting. Cold room, freezer room, skinning and the salting of skins are all included at no charge.

Company trips, client days and large mixed parties are quoted by the farm rather than booked off the nightly rate, because they usually want catering, guiding and the lodge to themselves.

Paid to the farm on the day, not through Hunt Local, so these are not in your booking total and we take no commission on them. Listed so you can budget the whole trip rather than just the beds.
The farm's rules

Hunting
- No hunting on Sundays or Christian holidays.
- Eland is weighed the same day it is shot, without head, feet, stomach and intestines, and that weight sets the price.
Payment
- No carcass or hunting rifle will be removed from the farm if the full balance of the account is not paid in full on the day of departure.
- All prices exclude 15% VAT.
Firearms
- Shots run from 100 to 225 metres, averaging 180 metres. Sight in accordingly.
Property
- Every hunter is responsible for marking his own carcasses, skin and horns.
Access
- Hunting hours are 07:30 to 17:00.
