About this farm

Eastern Cape hunting outside Cathcart, on a reserve that publishes a local rate card rather than a trophy one. Two self-catering lodges, Bushy Park and Benghoil Lodge, and a price list built around meat animals charged by the kilogram.

Where you'll be

Near Cathcart, Eastern Cape, Eastern Cape.

We show the area, not the gate. The exact location, the turn-off and the farm's own number go to you the moment your booking is confirmed.

Accommodation

Two self-catering lodges: Bushy Park sleeps 10 and Benghoil Lodge sleeps 8. R450 per person per night for parties of five or more, or R2,000 per lodge per night for four or fewer. Eland, kudu, waterbuck and warthog are priced per kilogram rather than per animal (R55, R50, R45 and R25 per kg), gutted and weighed with skin and head on, so those are settled on the day and are not in the quote above. Bontebok ewes are available at R3,500. Management males are priced during the hunt.

What you can hunt here

Local Plains Game Hunt

Their own local rate card, not the international one. Meat animals are priced per kilogram, gutted and weighed with skin and head on, which is how the reserve itself quotes them.

Bringing a group?

Company trips, client days and large mixed parties are quoted by the farm rather than booked off the nightly rate, because they usually want catering, guiding and the lodge to themselves.

Extras on the farm

  • Land Cruiser hunting vehicleR1 200 per day
  • Observer or visitor day feeR200 per person

Paid to the farm on the day, not through Hunt Local, so these are not in your booking total and we take no commission on them. Listed so you can budget the whole trip rather than just the beds.

The farm's rules

In the farm's own words, from their price list.

Hunting

  • Broadside shots are only permitted. No head or neck shots.
  • The guide or tracker is there to point out the animals. The onus lies with the hunter regarding horn length.

Payment

  • Any animals wounded are paid for at the rates above.
  • A R2,000 non-refundable deposit per person is required to confirm a hunt. The balance is payable on departure.
  • No accommodation or day fees are charged for children under 6.
  • Children under 13 are charged half on both accommodation and day fees.
  • All prices exclude 15% VAT.

Property

  • No carcass, skulls and capes are to be removed from the property without a signed Benghoil removal certificate.

These are the farm's terms, not Hunt Local's, and they are settled between you and the farm on the day. We show them so nothing on the account at the end is a surprise.
